Poker Face Lyrics—What is the Song About?

What is the song "Poker Face" about?  The Poker Face lyrics, written by Lady Gaga, are always the subject of mystery, though practically anything Gaga says or sings (or wears) is controversial nowadays.  On the surface, and judging by the music video which shows Gaga in various costumes playing strip poker, the song is about card games and how love is the biggest card game of them all.
However, the Poker Face lyrics are deeper than that, according to Lady Gaga herself.  She claims that the lyrics and the song were written as a tribute to her past rock and roll boyfriends, and celebrated sex and gambling.  When asked about this pop song by the Daily Star, she stated that it's "about" a lot of different things, though her exes were seriously into sex, drinks and gambling, and hence the dedication.  She also states that she wrote it affectionately as in, "a record my boyfriends would like too."
Interestingly, during the Fame Ball Tour performance in California she also stated that the song is about bisexuality, including her own affairs with other women.  She stated that the concept is that a woman can make love to a man but fantasize about sex with another woman, hence the "poker face" analogy.  Gaga has also said that the song has a subtle theme of her generation's confusion about love and love making.
The Poker Face lyrics should surprise no one who has ever heard any of Gaga's other songs, one of which is clever enough to incorporate her love of Alfred Hitchcock movies into rhyming syllables.  This is one of Gaga's racier songs, though you might never know it by reading the lyrics.
The verse "bluffin' with my muffin," for example, is a reference to the female anatomy, Gaga's in particular.  (Yes, she is a woman, in case you've heard otherwise)  Gaga stated that the verse means her vulva's "poker face."  Though it's hard not to dance to the lyrics, the real dance-ability of Poker Face comes with Gaga's voice and musical talents.  Her voice goes from F#4 to B4, though she also samples a "stuttering hook" from Boney M.'s "Ma Baker."  The song is written in G# minor and with 120 beats per minute.  Why not download the best of Lady Gaga right now or watch her music video?  She'll appreciate it though she won't "tell you that I love you."
